The following is a list of dates and locations of organizations providing school supply assistance for Oklahoma families. The listing does not guarantee availability – note ‘while supplies last.’ You are encouraged to show up early, call ahead, or check the program’s website to verify availability and for other information. Most events require proof of income and will allow SNAP or other government benefits as verification. Additionally, all events require children to be present to receive supplies.
Oklahoma City Area:
Monday-Thursday, 9 to 11 a.m. (while supplies last)
Backpack Program at Urban Mission provides school supplies for local children qualified as low income. Bring your school supplies list to Urban Mission at 3737 N. Portland between 9 and 11 a.m., Monday through Thursday to pick up the supplies you need. Parents must bring proof of residency, proof of income, ID for child and printed school supplies list.
Aug. 5, 8a.m. to 1 p.m. (or while supplies last)
Feeding 5000 & More at OKC Faith Church, 800 S. Portland (I-40 & Portland) will be handing out backpacks full of school supplies as well as food. Backpacks are available to school-age children K-12, meals are available to the first 5,000 people.
Aug. 5, 9 a.m. to noon (while supplies last)
Back-to-School Round Up at Alameda Church of Christ, 801 E Alameda in Norman, provides backpacks with school supplies to families in the Norman area as well as an information fair for parents with local non-profit organizations, lunch, kids’ activities and free haircuts for students, while supplies last.
Aug. 5, 9 a.m. to noon
Slip-n-Slide Family Celebration at Family of Faith Church, 13500 SE 15 in Choctaw. Backpacks, hot dogs and nearly new clothing will be given away while supplies last. Event will include inflatables and more.

Back to School Expo at The Exchange Center at Expo Square, 4145 E 21st St., Tulsa, will host the largest free Back-to-School event in Northeast Oklahoma.
Aug. 15, 9 to 11 a.m.
Back-to-School Community Resource Fair hosted by Martin Regional Library at 2601 S Garnett Rd., Tulsa. Start the year off right with information, school supplies and services from nearly 40 community organizations. For ages 5-18.
Creek County (serves Bristow, Depew, Gypsy and Milfay):
Aug. 5, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bristow Social Services, 1110 S Chestnut (Bristow Housing Authority), Bristow. School supplies and backpacks (K-12). Contact Tony Goodwin at 918-367-5400.
Aug. 13, 5 to 8 p.m.
Feed the Neighborhood 2017 at Central National Bank Center, 301 S. Independence, Enid. World Harvest Church will host an event including free haircuts, health screenings, immunizations, school supplies, backpacks, food, games, clothing vouchers and more for elementary-age children of the area. Parent must be present with child to receive backpack. Contact 580-234-4474.

Boulevard Christian Church will host the Back-to-School Clothing Extravaganza at Boulevard Christian Church, 1700 W. Shawnee Bypass, Muskogee. Clothing and school supplies. They are asking for one nonperishable food item or $1 for the food pantry. Contact Boulevard Christian Church at 918-682-7822.
Aug. 6, 5 to 7 p.m.
First United Methodist Church Muskogee, 600 E. Okmulgee, will host the Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway. Backpacks, school supplies and food. All are welcome. Contact 918-682-3368.

Shared Blessings will host the Back-to-School Bash at Main & Oklahoma Church of Christ, 1700 S. Main Street, McAlester. Serving Pre-K-12. Parent and child must be present. Contact 918-423-4743.

New Life Church will host Fiesta at Fuqua Park, US-81 and Beech, Duncan. Haircuts, food, games and school supply giveaway. All are welcome. Contact 580-736-4455.
