On October 16th from 3p to 5p there will be a community book fair. I have 2 adoptive kids who have a nonprofit organization called My Generation In Action Community Foundation (MGIA). Our main purpose is service through giving. The purpose of the book fair is to promote literacy. We want to encourage children to read and we want to provide our youth with opportunities to socialize.
We will have arts and crafts and family games. All activities are free. Books are 25 cents to $3. We will also set up booths with toys, make up and supplies which will all be below $5 dollars. We will have books for every age group.
The kids wanted to bless the homeless so all of the profits from the book fair will go into buy nice sturdy backpacks and filling them with hats, gloves, long shirts, thermals etc. for the winter. We give free haircuts and styles as well with a team of youth who want to give back. Although we have been giving for years we are just officially getting started. We have a Facebook page and our website is in the process of being set up as we are working with other successful organizations that have the same goal.
Please Note: Again this is a book fair we have hundreds of new and used books. All books will be $0.25 -$3 and other items such as beanies, toys, accessories will be below $5.00. We want everything to be affordable. There will be no child care and there is plenty of parking.
