This course is designed to address the unique needs of children who have experienced trauma and provide a greater understanding of how trauma impacts education. Additionally, participants will leave with the knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Plan) preparation, strategies to address trauma, and techniques to build relationships with schools to ensure student success.
Location: Oklahoma City Metro Technology Center, Springlake Campus, Conference Center/Conference Rooms F,G, and H.
Who should attend? Foster parents, education advocates, child welfare specialists, juvenile attorneys, educators, LEA, ESSA’s Designated Point of Contact, and others with a desire to help children learn and grow.
Space is limited! This is a free event but pre-registration is required. The conference is from 9am-4pm with check-in starting at 8am. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided! Certificates of attendance will be provided. CEUs for select professions will be available on site at each of the two events.
