10 Jun 2018 — 15 Jun 2018 Working on the Wichitas (WOW!)

The Working on the Wichita (WOW!); sponsored by the Galt Foundation; is a summer camp for DRS clients who are high school students 16-21 years of age, and who are returning to high school in August 2018. This camp is held at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, which is a habitat for bison, elk, and wild turkey and also has nature trails, hunting, fishing, camping, and rock climbing. Camp WOW! is a great way for young adults with special needs to gain work experience and earn money while experiencing all the Wildlife Refuge has to offer.

One of the goals of the camp it job readiness skills like talking to bosses, the kinds of jobs they may want in the future, how to explore the skill they have and the skills they may need to accomplish their goals.

The camp will be held June 10-15th in the Wichita Mountains near Lawton, OK. Contact Teachers and DRS Counselors for Applications.
